Este adorável mook {revista (magazine) + livro (book)} foi publicado por uma comunidade lolita do norte da Itália, o grupo EGL Lilium. Uma das pessoas que editou esse mook talvez já seja conhecido por você - lembre-se da Erikari? Comprei algumas coisas dela e encomendei a revista Merletti junto.

This lovely mook (magazine + book) was published by a north italian lolita comm, the EGL Lilium group. One of the editors/publishers maybe are already known by you - remember Erikari? I bought a couple stuff from her and ordered the Merletti magazine along.

The stickers are beautiful! Letter paper also! And so are the postcards *__* But this is a reading post, so I want to show you what is in this cute magazine.

O nome "Merletti" significa "rendas" em italiano. É plural, no singular aparece muito escrito como "pizzo merletto". Só consigo pensar em "rendas e babados" como um bom jeito de traduzir Merletti, hehehe. É um nome com certeza adorável!

The name "Merletti" means "lace" in Italian. It is plural (I think lace in english usually is not used in plural form?), in the singular it is often written as "pizzo merletto". I can only think of "lace and ruffles" as a good way to translate Merletti, hehehe. It is a lovely name indeed!

Aqui atrás diz: "Lillium é a comunidade lolita da Lombardia, especialmente ativa em Milão, nascida do desejo de manter viva a moda lolita na Itália e de criar um espaço seguro para as lolitas com todos os níveis de experiência. Seu principal objetivo é representar a moda lolita, se divertir e descobrindo assim coisas novas, mas também mostrar como pode ser gratificante usar roupas especiais em boa companhia." Eu concordo muito! ❤

Here in the back it says: "Lillium is the lolita community of Lombardy, especially active in Milan, born of the desire to keep the lolita fashion alive in Italy and to create a safe space for the lolitas with all levels of experience. Its main objective is to represent the lolita fashion, havin fun, and getting to know new goodies, but also to show how satisfying it can be to wear special clothes in good company." I wholy-hearted agree! ❤

Meu plano NÃO é fazer uma scanlation. Este mook está sendo re-lancado e quero encorajar quem quiser lê-lo a comprar esta linda revista. Vou destacar apenas algumas das minhas coisas favoritas e tentar traduzir o italiano da melhor maneira possível para inglês e português. (Desculpem, amigas alemãs! Talvez em alguns meses eu poste em alemão também)

My plan is NOT to do a scanlation. This mook is being re-issued and I want to encourage anyone who would like to read it to buy this beautiful magazine. I will only highlight some of my favorite stuff and try my best translating the italian to both English and Portuguese. (Sorry, German friends! Maybe in a couple months I'll be posting in german as well)

A revista começa com o básico – uma pequena introdução sobre o que é uma lolita e o hilariante (mas importante) “como agir quando você conhece uma lolita”. É o básico: pergunte se pode tirar fotos, não saia pegando na roupa da pessoa, etc, etc.

The magazine starts with the basics - a small intro of what is a lolita and the hilarious (but important) 'how to act when you meet a lolita'. It's really basic: ask if it's ok to take pictures, don't go grabbing the person's clothing, etc, etc.

Aí tem um glossário/dicionário com ilustrações e uma boa lista com as influências estéticas que fizeram a lolita se tornar essa moda - o período rococó, a era vitoriana, os anos 50 e 60, os anos 70, e finalmente as origens da moda, incluindo o Revista Olive Girls e a banda Malice Mizer.

Then you get a glossary/dictionary with illustrations and a nice list with the aesthetic influences that made lolita become this fashion - the rococo period, the victorian era, the 50's and 60s, the 70's, and finally the origins of the fashion, including the Olive Girls magazine and the Malice Mizer band.

A revista conta com diversas páginas ilustradas, de diversos artistas. Erikari, como você deve saber, é uma dos principais ilustradoras aqui. Outras sãoMyra Berry, Loputyn, Snow Priestess, Ameryse, Karstooni e Francesca Frills.

The magazine has several illustrated pages, from different artists. Erikari, as you might know, is one of the main illustrators here. Others are Myra Berry, Loputyn, Snow Priestess, Ameryse, Karstooni and Francesca Frills.

O grande glossário/dicionário que abrange termos e abreviações de lolita é especialmente bom quando o inglês não é sua primeira língua (já que muitos termos são emprestados do inglês), mas uma das minhas partes favoritas é o artigo de dicas de vendas! Eles vão direto ao ponto, dão exemplos de como medir e descrever suas peças, e ainda contam alguns detalhes de como vender no Lacemarket, no Vinted e em grupos privados.

The big glossar/dictionary kind of thing encompassing lolita terms and abbreviations is especially good when english is not your first language (as many terms are borrowed from english), but one of my favorite parts is the sales tips article! They are very direct to the point, give examples on how to measure and describe your pieces, and even tell some details on how to sell on Lacemarket, on Vinted and on private groups.

Além disso, a seção de marcas é bem legal: uma bela lista das marcas japonesas mais famosas, e uma ótima lista de marcas europeias para quem quer comprar localmente.

Also, the brands's section is pretty cool: a nice list of the most famous japanese brands, and a great list of european brands for those who want to buy local.

Como sabemos, a revista é resultado do esforço coletivo dos membros da Lillium EGL. São duas páginas dedicadas a quem escreveu, fez ilustrações ou participou das entrevistas! Adoro ver quantas pessoas legais acabam colaborando juntas ♥

As we know, the magazine is a result of the collective effort by the members of Lillium EGL. There are two pages dedicated to the ones who wrote it, did illustrations or participated in the interviews! I love to see how many cool people end up collaborating together ♥

Ler isso (bem devagar e com um dicionário/tradutor do Google) me deixou muito inspirada para talvez um dia publicar algo assim. Dá pra sonhar, né?

Reading this (very slowly and with a dictionary/google translator) made me very inspired of maybe publishing something like this one day. A girl can dream, right?
