A visual dictionary on hair accessories~
Acessórios de cabelo/cabeça interessantes são uma das muitas razões pelas quais eu amo tanto a moda lolita. Tem tanta variedade, e eles podem ser muitas vezes feitos em casa ou encontrados em lojas aleatórias, ao contrário das peças principais lolita. Meu plano aqui é fazer meio como um dicionário e mostrar fotos e nomes alternativos de alguns acessórios, e também mostrar coords e marcas fofas ao fazer isso. Eu planejo incluir tudo que não seja uma peruca, eu acho que perucas merecem seu próprio post ♥ Espero que você goste!
Interesting hair/head accessories are one of the many reasons why I love lolita fashion so much. There's just so much variety, and they can be many times made at home or found in random shops, in opposition as main lolita pieces. My plan here is to go a little bit like a dictionary and show pics and alternative names of some of them, and also showcase cute coords and brands while doing so. I plan to include everything that is not a wig, I think wigs deserve their own post ♥ I hope you enjoy!

Laço de cabeça ♡ The Headbow
O acessório de cabeça mais comum. Eles também são chamados de Alice bow (laço de Alice), e no Japão eles também recebem o nome de Kachuusa (カチューシャ), então escrito como KC às vezes. Eles são fáceis de usar, não requerem estilização extra e têm muitas variações. Eles geralmente vêm em um arquinho/tiara, mas também há versões de amarrar (geralmente peças da Meta mais antigas). Os laços podem ter correntes de pérolas penduradas neles, um véu, serem menores, sobreposições de tecido e há pessoas que os decoram com pins/broches. Eles são definitivamente meu acessório de cabeça lolita favorito.
The most common head accessory. They are also called alice bow, and in Japan they also get the name Kachuusa (カチューシャ), then written as KC sometimes. They are easy to wear, require no extra styling, and have several variations. They usually come on a headband, but there are tying-up versions as well (usually older Meta pieces). The first image here shows a 'straight up' headbow, but you can also find the ones that lay softly against your head. You can have wired bows, so they have more structure (but are a mess to wash), floppy bows (when the fabric is super soft, like chiffon), or bows that are very sturdy just by the way they are sewn on. When they are too big, they can be called a 'head eater headbow', and this was specially true with some headbows made by BTSSB. When attached on a headband, most headbows are fixed, but there are some brands that make 'movable' bows so you can wear them either at the center of your head, or tilted to the side. Headbows can have chains of pearls hanging from them, a veil, be smaller, fabric overlays, and there are people who decorate them with pins. They are definitely my favorite lolita head acessory.

O Headdress retangular ♡ The rectangular Headdress
O headdress retangular lolita (ヘッドドレス) é um dos acessórios mais típicos da moda. Por um tempo, foi uma das COISAS que definiam um look lolita, um tempo depois foi considerado 100% ita, e posteriormente a nostalgia voltou lentamente com headdresses mais finos e, no momento atual, 2024, esses acessórios estão definitivamente de volta à moda. Além de ter vários tipos de renda, fitas e/ou laços, alguns headdresses também podem ter rosas falsas, borlas/pendões ou até mesmo chifres ou orelhas de animais, como esta colaboração fofa com o Cinnamoroll. Esse aqui é todo de pelinhos! Normalmente se usa esse acessório amarrado no sob o queixo ou atrás, abaixo dos cabelos, mas alguns headdresses sao presos com clipes/presilhas pequenas mesmo.
The rectangle lolita headdress (ヘッドドレス) is one of the most typical accessories. For a while, it was one of THE THINGS to define a lolita outfit, for another while it was regarded as 100% ita, the nostalgia hit back slowly with slimmer headdresses and then with the current point in time, 2024, headdresses are definitively back in fashion. Apart from having several types of lace, ribbons and/or bows, some headdresses can also have fake roses, tassels or even horns or animal ears attached to them, like this cute cinnamoroll collab. This one is all furry! Normally you tie this accessory under your chin or behind your neck, under the hairline, but some headdresses have little clips instead of ribbons.

Clipes de cabelo ♡ Hairclips
Clipes de cabelo (クリップ) existem em uma infinidade de tipos, mas a maioria deles se parece com lacinhos. Alguns laços têm pequenos pingentes pendurados, como este com morangos de crochê, e outros têm formatos interessantes, como estes de coração ou estes clipes menores com pingentes de acrílico da AP. A MeLikesTea geralmente tem esses lacinhos de cabelo em um arco-íris de cores, e a EmiKyu tem esses presilhas de sapatilhas de ponta muito legais, e esse prendedor de cabelos com naipes de cartas também. Um acessório famoso era o clipe de estrela da 6%DokiDoki, que podia ser usado tanto como grampo de cabelo quanto como broche.
Hairclips or hairpins (クリップ) exist in a myriad of types, but most of them look like small bows. Some bows have little charms hanging from them, like this one with crocheted strawberries, and other have interesting shapes, like these heart-shaped ones or these smaller clips with acrylic charms by AP. MeLikesTea usually has these hairclips in a rainbow of colors, and EmiKyu has these really cool pointe shoes clips, and these card trumps clip too. A famous accessory was the 2-way star clip from 6%DokiDoki that could be used both as a hairclip or a brooch.

Bonnet & half-bonnet ♡ Bonnet & half-bonnet
Os bonnets mudaram muito ao longo da história, mas são basicamente um chapéu ou gorro sem aba em toda a volta, ou seja, têm apenas essa aba ou babados perto do rosto de quem os usa. O half-bonnet seria apenas a "aba" e um pouco mais de estrutura, mas sem cobrir a parte de trás da cabeça. Pelo menos no estilo lolita, geralmente se pensa assim, mas algumas marcas usam os dois termos indistintamente. Eles podem ser super rígidos assim, ou feitos de palha, estruturados com pregas, ou super flexíveis. Este é um lindo meio-bonnet xadrez. Alguns bonnets podem ter orelhas fofas de animais ou ter diferentes tecidos e bordados para torná-los super elegantes. Este padrão de diamantes da Enchantlic Chantilly foi o maior sucesso na época que foi lançado. Este é bem fino, quase como um headdress, e este é o mais louco que já vi: é um full-bonnet em formato de coração.
Bonnets have changed a lot through history, but they are basically a hat but without a brim all around, so they just have this brim or ruffles near the face of the wearer. The half-bonnet would be just the 'brim' and a little bit more for structure, but without covering the back of the head. In lolita, at least, it is usually thought like this, but some brands just use both terms interchangeably. They can be super rigid like this, or this made of straw, structured with pleats, or super floppy. This is a beautiful tartan half-bonnet. Some bonnets my have cute animal ears attached to them, or have different fabrics and embroideries to make them super elegant. This diamond-pattern from Enchantlic Chantilly was all the rage when it was released. This one is very thin, almost like a headdress, and this is the craziest one I have ever seen: it is a heart-shaped full bonnet.

Boina ♡ Beret
Boinas são um dos meus tipose de chapéus favoritos! Podem ser super macias, feitas de feltro ou lã, ou super grossas, porque serem tricotadas. Geralmente têm um visual meio retrô e elegante, e um ar um pouco mais maduro. Como têm superfície grande, você pode ter boinas com estampas ou bordadas, ou com fitas e decoração extra, orelhas de animais ou um pompom! Esta boina parece tão fofinha! Esta é semitransparente, com um tecido estampado.
Berets are one of my favorite hats! They can be either super soft, made of felt or wool, or super chonky, whey they are knitted. They usually look kinda retro and elegant, and look a bit more mature. Because it is a big surface, you can have berets with prints or embroidery, or extra ribbons and decoration, animal ears or a pompom! This beret looks so fluffy! This one is semi transparent, with a patterned fabric.

Presilha ♡ Barrette
Essas presilhas (barrettes) são basicamente grampos de cabelo laterais, geralmente maiores do que os clipes de cabelo normais. Não tenho certeza da tradução em português. São o meu tipo de acessório menos favorito porque acho difícil de usar. Meu cabelo é muito fino, então elas costumam escorregar. Imagino que você precise de cabelo grosso ou de alguma técnica secreta para que as presilhas fiquem no lugar. Sua característica marcante é a parte de metal que se prende ao cabelo. Atualmente, elas são fáceis de encontrar em lojas físicas comuns que têm coleções mais românticas ou femininas! Você pode ter presilhas que são laços de tecido, laços de acrílico (geralmente da Chocomint ou Baby), flores artificiais ou até mesmo formatos malucos, como esta feita de panquecas artificiais! Este também é interessante com um garfo em miniatura, esse é todo de pérolas...
Barrettes are basically sideway hair clips, and usually larger than normal clips. They are my least favorite type of accessory because I find them hard to use, my hair is too thin so they usually slide down my hair. I suppose you need either thick hair or some secret technique so the barrettes stay in place. Their defining characteristic is the metal part that clips onto your hair. They are currently easy to find in normal brick and mortar shops that hold more romantic or girly collections! You can have barrets that are fabric bows, acrylic bows (usually from Chocomint or Baby), fake flowers or even crazy shapes, like this one made out of fake pancakes! This one is also interesting with a miniature fork on it, and this one is all pearls...

Outros arquinhos ♡ Other headbands
Essas tiaras têm tudo, menos um laço grande, e, portanto, são mais fáceis de encontrar em lojas de acessórios normais — mas marcas lolita também as lançam! Essas tiaras meio que parecem uns headdresses retangulares com pérolas, enquanto esta é feita de estrelas fofinhas e esta com corações de glitter. Este arquinho é de voile transparente com pérolas, este parece uma auréola, este é um bem discreto com aparência de bijuteria, este parece uma coisa meio capuz francês/tiara Tudor / arquinho Renascentista, esta tem rosas e um véu, esta tem apenas uma rosa e algumas pérolas e esta parece um nó feito de veludo - que é muito semelhante à forma como as Usamimis gyaru surgiram, e foram remodelados tanto pela AP quanto pela Meta. Por fim, tiaras de pérolas também se enquadram nesta categoria.
These headbands have anything but a big bow on them, and therefore, are easier to find in normie accessories shops - but lolita brands release them too! These headbands kinda look like rectangular headdresses with pearls, while this one is made out of fluffy stars and this with glitter hearts. This is sheer voile with pearls, this looks like a halo, this is a very understated jewelry-looking one, this looks like a french hood / tudor / renaissance thing, this has roses and a veil, this one has just a rose and some pearls and this kinda looks like a knot made out of velvet - which is very similar to how the gyaru Usamimis came to existence, and were remodelled both by AP and Meta. Lastly, full pearl headbands fall here in this category too.

Canotier ♡ Canotier
Canotiers são peças de tecido pequenas e arredondadas que ficam planas junto à cabeça e são fortemente decoradas com renda. Assim como os grandes enfeites de cabeça retangulares, eles geralmente são amarrados abaixo do queixo, mas alguns podem ter presilhas ou até mesmo ser presos a tiaras para maior estabilidade. Aqui está um com um material bem alternativo - com zíper! Eu adoro os canotiers em formato de coração, e este tem formato de estrela e parece um doce gigante.
Canotier are somewhat small, round-ish pieces of fabric that lay flat against your head, and are heavily decorated with lace. Like the big rectangle headdresses, they are usually tied under your chin, but some of them might have clips or even be on headbands for stability. Here's one with a very alternative material - it has zipper on it! I love the heart shaped canotiers, and this one is star shaped, and this looks like a giant candy.

Lencinho de cabelo ♡ Kerchief / Babushka
Os lencinhos de cabelo tem uma vibe bem vintage e não sei se eles são chamados por outros nomes, mas em inglês é chamado de kerchief, e muitas marcas japonesas chamam de babushka (tipo vovó em russo, como se fosse um lencinho de vó!). Eles pra mim trazem uma inspiração natural-kei e anos 70, bem pastoral, que pode ficar muito fofa em coords lolita. Esse é de xadrez de vichy / gingham, essa gracinha aqui é toda de renda, esse tem franzidos só atrás, esse parece um véu, e esse aqui é de renda e todo franzido!
The headscarves have a very vintage vibe, and I don't know if they're called by other names, but in English they're also known as kerchiefs, and many Japanese brands call them babushkas (like grandma in Russian, like a grandma's headscarf!). To me, they bring a natural-kei and '70s inspiration, very pastoral, which can look really cute with lolita outfits. This one is gingham plaid, this cutie here is all lace, this one has frills only in the back, this one looks like a veil, and this one here is only lace and all ruffled!

Chapéus ♡ Hats
Chapéus grandes são tão elegantes e marcantes! Normalmente, os chapéus com aparência mais normal' adicionam um toque mais casual às nossas modas já bem impactantes, e os chapéus de palha ou boater tendem a ficar especialmente fofos com lolita clássica e sailor lolita! Chapéus de tamanho normal também são muito comuns nos trajes Aristocrat, Ouji, Pirate e Steampunk. Este é um lindo chapéu gótico, enquanto este é um chapéu de bruxa chique. Os bonés da BTSSB, como este e este, também se encaixam aqui como peças bem casuais. Os formatos de cabelo descolados como este com orelhas de gato, chapéus militares e este capuz de kumya são tecnicamente chapéus também.
Full sized hats are so elegant and bold! Usually, the more 'normal' looking hats add a more daily appearance to our bold fashions, and straw or boater hats tend to look especially cute with classic lolita and sailor lolita! Full size hats are also very common in the Aristocrat, Ouji, Pirate and Steampunk outfits too. This is a gorgeous gothic hat example, while this one is a very fancy witch hat. BTSSB's baseball caps like this and this fit here as well, like very casual pieces. The funky hair shapes like this cat-eared one, military hats and this kumya hood are technically hats too.

Mini-Chapéus ♡ Mini-hats
Se chapéus não são a sua praia, que tal mini-chapéus? Miniaturas de chapéus genéricos e cartolas costumavam ser supercomuns em lolita. Alguns deles parecem apenas um pouco menores que um chapéu normal, enquanto outros são realmente mini! Chapéus comuns podem ser elegantes e bastante sérios, enquanto os minichapéus sempre terão um visual mais divertido — como este que parece um bolo inteiro, esta fatia de bolo ou a famosa geleia da AP. Olha só este pequeno chapéu de bruxa! Embora também não pareçam mais chapéus, mini-coroas como esta e esta, ou esta xícara de chá e este tambor (!) ou esse carrossel também podem ser classificadas pelas marcas como mini-chapéus.
If hats are not your thing, how about mini-hats? Miniatures of generic hats and tophats used to be super common in lolita. Some of them look only slightly smaller than a normal hat, while other are really mini! Regular hats can be elegant and quite serious, while mini hats will always look more playful - like this one that looks like a whole cake, this cake slice or the famous jelly by AP. Look at this tiny witch hat! Although they also don't look like hats anymore, mini-crowns like this and this, or this teacup and this drum (!) or this carousel can also be classified by brands as mini hats.

Chapéu de empregadinha + enfermeira ♡ Maid cap + nurse cap
Prefiro separar os headdresses de empregadinha e as toucas de enfermeira dos chapéus porque acho que são algo único. Primeiro, derivados das profissões em si, e depois talvez dos estereótipos dos desenhos animados, eles sempre podem oscilar entre estilos mais góticos e mais kawaii. Por exemplo, estas gorros de enfermeira góticos parecem muito sérios, este é mais barroco/chique, este gorro de enfermeira clássico parece muito histórico, enquanto este chapéu de enfermeira rosa é muito fofo! Os chapéus ou tiaras de empregada também são bastante comuns, e geralmente com renda branca, enquanto este é muito elegante, este foi o único cocar de empregada com aparência gótica que encontrei. A maioria deles é fofo.
I prefer to separate maid headdresses and nurse caps from the hats because I think they are their very own thing. First derived from the actual professions, and then maybe the stereotypes through cartoons, they can always swing between more gothic and more kawaii styles. For example, these gothic nurse caps look very serious, this is more baroque/fancy, this classical nurse cap seems very historical, while this pink nurse hat is very sweet! The maid caps or headbands are somewhat common too, and usually with white lace, while this is very classy, this was the only gothic-looking maid headdress that I found. Most of them are sweet.

Orelhas de bichinho ♡ Animal ears
Antes odiadas, acho que orelhas de animais estão lentamente sendo aceitas na moda lolita, desde que façam sentido com a roupa - por exemplo, orelhas de gato com estampa de gato, ou orelhas de ursinho com estampa de ursinho. Mostrei alguns exemplos quando eles estão em headdresses, mas você também os tem em tiaras, com clipes ou com pentes. Estes dois têm tema de cervo: um com chifres e outro com orelhas e um laço. Once hated, I think animal ears are slowly becoming accepted in lolita fashion, as long as they make sense with the oufit - for example, cat ears with a cat-themed print, or teddy bear ears with a teddy print. I showed some examples when they're on headdresses, but you also have them on headbands, with clips or with combs. These two are deer themed: one with antlers, and one with ears and a bow. The squirrel is a very uncommon ear type!

Qi-pao ♡ Qi-pao
Devo admitir que não sei exatamente como as pessoas se referem a esses acessórios de coque estilo chinês. Já li algumas pessoas chamando-as de "qi-pao", mas acho que esse é o termo para todo o estilo de vestido. Elas podem ser ocas (para cobrir os coques) ou cheias, para imitar os próprios coques. Eu sei que a Ank Rouge fez alguns deles, a Maxicimam e a Precious Clove também, e esses da Hoshibako Works são em formato de coração!
I must admit I don't know fully how people refer to these chinese-style hair bun covers. I've read some people calling them "qi-pao", but I think that's the term for the whole dress style. They can either be hollow (to cover your buns) or be full to emulate the buns themselves. I know Ank Rouge did some of them, Maxicimam and Precious Clove too, and these Hoshibako Works are heart shaped!

Véus e outros ♡ Veils and others
Fora do estilo lolita, os véus são muito góticos ou muito de noiva. Em lolita, eles são mais lúdicos, existindo também em rosa, com lacinhos, ou até mesmo como véus de freira. Este vem em um arquinho de cabeça! Achei que enfeites de cabeça com várias correntes de pérolas e rosas e tecidos também encaixam aqui.
Outside of lolita, veils are either very gothic or very bridal. In lolita they are more playful, existing also in pink, with ribbons, or even as nun veils. This comes on a headband! I felt like headdresses with multiple chain of pearls and roses and fabric also kinda fit in here.
Comecei a escrever isso ano passado, mas enquanto isso também li este post no Le FruFru News, que me inspirou a continuar escrevendo. Este post do FYeah Lolita também estava na minha cabeça.
I began writing this last year, but in the meanwhile I also read this Le FruFru News post and that got me inspired to go on writing, and this FYeah Lolita post was also in my head.
Ter acessórios de cabeça incríveis, lindos e interessantes é uma das coisas que mais gosto na moda lolita. É a única moda em que você se sente em casa usando uma tiara, ou até mesmo um minipiano inteiro na cabeça. (Eu te amo, Takulu!). Vá lá, descubra o que você ama e use!
Having crazy, beautiful, interesting headpieces is one of the things I like the most about lolita fashion. It is only of the only fashions when you can feel at home wearing a tiara, or even a whole mini piano on your head. (I love you, Takulu!). Go there, find out what you love, and wear it!
