Or, how to wear lolita when travelling only with hand luggage
Meu marido e eu fomos passar o Natal (e ano novo) em Porto, Portugal com meu cunhado e nossos amigos. Eu queria muito poder encontrar minhas amigas lolita usando lolita, então fiz o possível pra planejar outfits que ficassem diferentes entre si, mesmo usando o mesmo vestido como base. Mas, aquela coisa, para o vôo ser barato, ele teve alguns detalhes:
- O vôo não era direto, era necessário fazer troca de avião
- Como haveria troca de avião, passaríamos horas em cada cidade (14h no caso da ida, quase 24h no caso da volta)
- Só poderíamos levar bagagem de mão
My husband and I went to spend Christmas (and new year) in Porto, Portugal, with my brother-in-law and our friends. I also wanter really much to meet my lolita friends wearing lolita as well, so I did whatever was possible to plan outfits that were different among themselves, despite wearing the same dress as a base. But, in order to our flight to be cheap, there were a few setbacks:
- It was not a direct flight, we needed to change airplanes
- Since there would be an airplane change, we would also spend hours in each city (14h on the way out, almost 24h on the way back)
- We could only carry hand luggage
É, essa aqui foi minha "mala"! Eu levei uma bolsinha menor no meu colo também.
Yep, that was my "luggage"! I also brought a small handbag on my lap.
Então, quero compartilhar com vocês o principal segredo pra se viajar com uma mochila E usar lolita. Simples, vá vestindo! ♥
So, I wanted to share with you the main secret to travel with a backpack AND wear lolita. Simple, go wearing it! ♥

Se você gosta de usar looks casuais, é o mais fácil. Vestindo seu JSK favorito e anáguas, dá pra montar coordinates diferentes usando camisas, cardigans, casacos e acessórios de cabeça. Se você conseguir levar um par extra de sapatos para combinar, melhor ainda! Imagino que quem goste de usar visuais mais OTT (ou com peruca) enfrente mais dificuldades em viajar assim usando lolita... Sei que não é para qualquer um ;)
If you like wearing casual looks, it is the easiest. Wearing your favorite JSK and petticoats, you can create different coordinates wearing shirts, cardigans, coats and head accessories. If you're able to take an extra pair of shoes to match, even better! I imagine that those who like wearing OTT looks, or wigs, will have a harder time to travel like this wearing lolita... It's not for the faint of heart ;)
Eu sugiro o uso de um JSK porque permite uma variação maior de estilos: usando camisas diferentes por baixo ou por cima, dá para ter um efeito mais de saia ou de vestido. Fica mais difícil de variar o visual de um OP usando camisas por baixo, e não tem como criar o visual de vestido usando uma saia.
I suggest wearing a JSK because it allows to more style variation: wearing different shirt under or above it, you can have the looks of either a skirt or a dress. I's harder to change the looks with an OP with shirts underneath, and you can't create the dress look wearing a skirt.
Por sinal, não subestime a segurança do aeroporto. Quanto mais fofo e mais chamar a atenção, mais os fiscais vão fazer perguntas. Como já viajei assim algumas vezes, já serve pra fazer estatística: As vezes que usei vestidos claros, com mais cor-de-rosa, ou com algum acessório que chamava muito a atenção (um chapéu vermelho) eu recebi mais perguntas do que com o visual em cores escuras / anágua menor / mais discreto. A vez que eu estava usando tudo rosa e anáguas enormes, me levaram pra uma sala separada pra duas fiscais mulheres fazerem uma inspeção, aí tive que desmontar os babados todos :P
By the way, try not to understimate the airport's security. The cutest and more attention-grabbing it is, more the airport security will ask questions. Since I travelled a couple times in Lolita, I can do some statistic: when I wore lighter-colored pieces, or with more statement accessories (like a enourmous red hat), I got more questions than when I was wearing dar colors / smaller petticoat / more toned down in general. The time I was wearing multiple petticoats and all in pink, they got me to a little room so the security ladies could inspect my clothing, so I had to strip myself out of my frills :P
Em resumo: se a viagem for curta e você quiser usar lolita, vá com as roupas que você ama de forma um pouco mais discreta e vai dar certo ❤
In a nutshell: if your trip is short and you wanna wear lolita, go wearing your beloved clothes in a toned down way and it's gonna work out fine ❤
