Got Lolita ♡ visiting Madame Chocolat

A brick-and-mortar Lolita/alt shop? YES, PLEASE!

Eu estava saindo de Berlim (Alemanha), onde moro, pra Porto (Portugal), para passar o Natal com minha família e amigos. Porém, nosso vôo não era direto, iríamos passar 16h na cidade de Barcelona (Espanha) até pegar o próximo vôo. Por que não transformar esse tempo num passeio ou aventura extra? Sabendo disso, procurei visitar a Madame Chocolat, uma loja que vende roupas fofíssimas alternativas - entre punk japonês a lolita, de roupinhas Menhera a Grunge, Fairy-kei e Dark Academia... Tem simplesmente de tudo lá! E a loja é linda!!

I was going out of Berlin (Germany), where I live, to Porto (Portugal) to spend Christmas with my family and friends. However, it was not a direct flight, we would have to spend 16h in the city of Barcelona (Spain) until the next flight. Why not make this time into a extra adventure? Since I knew that beforehand, I planned to visit Madame Chocolat, a shop that sells really cute alternative clothing - between japanese punk and lolita, cute Menhera stuff and grunge, Fairy-kei and Dark Academia... There's just about everything there! And the shop itself is beautiful!

A loja em si é completa de roupas, acessórios de vestir, bolsas, papelaria, buttons, alguns brinquedos, dá pra se perder de tanta coisa legal pra ver. Não era permitido tirar fotos dentro, então aqui fica uma foto do site que mostra um pouco do interior:

The store itself is full of clothing, accessories for wearing, purses, stationery, buttons, some toys, you can get lost with so many cute things to see. It was not allowed to take photos inside, so here's a pic from their website that showcases the interior of the shop:

Madame Chocolat

Dá pra conhecer mais no site da loja aqui. Porém, pra mim uma coisa era especial: a dona da Madame Chocolat também é a mente incrível por trás da Violet Fane, uma das marcas Lolita qu eu mais admiro! Queria muito poder encontrar a dona da loja para poder encher ela de elogios, e talvez encontrar mais algumas peças da coleção Enchanted Town para combinar com meu JSK.

You can get to know more about the shop in this website here. However, something for me was special: the owner of Madame Chocolat is also the incredible mind behind Violet Fane, one of the Lolita brands I admire the most! I wanted very much to meet the owner herself so I could fill her with compliments about her pieces, and maybe buy some more accessories from their collection Enchanted Town to match my JSK.

Eu nunca tinha pensado em coordenar esse vestido com rosa, mas como eu sabia que ia chover MUITO no Porto (meu destino final nessa viagem), vim com galochas que não caberiam na mochila, e um casaco igualmente resistente à água pra combinar. Casual pra caramba, acho que se a gente ignorar que eu estou usando calças, até que conta como um outfit razoável 🤣

Tenho me sentido cada vez mais à vontade para fazer esses visuais mais "livres", sabe? No fundo, é só por um dia, preciso usar algo que eu considere confortável e que sirva ao meu propósito - no caso, carregar o máximo de roupas no meu próprio corpo, hahahaha. Aqui no Instagram tem uma foto mais bonita.

I had never thought of coordinating this dress with pink, but since I knew it was going to rain A LOT in Porto (my final destination on this trip), I wore my rainboots because they wouldn't fit in my backpack, and wore a water-resistant coat to match. Casual AF, but I think if we ignore the fact I'm wearing pants, it kinda counts as a reasonable outfit 🤣

I've been feeling more and more at home in making up these "freestyle" outfits, you know? Because, in the end, it is somehting so simple, it's just for a day, I have to wear something I feel comfortable in and that serves to my objective - in this case, carry as much clothing as I could on my own body, hahahaha. Bem, gostaria de mostrar minhas compras na loja, enquanto comento um pouco dessa experiência ♥

Well, I'd like to show what I bought there at the shop, while I talk a little about the experience ♥

Primeiro eu perguntei pra atendente se tinha algo da Violet Fane, ela ficou meio ??? e daí perguntou pra dona da loja (que estava no estoque) se tinha algo... Daí logo ela veio conversar comigo e trouxe uma caixinha de acessórios, algumas criações recém saídas do forno (metaforicamente) que ela estava fotografando para colocar no site. Dei muita sorte!

Fist I asked the shop girl if there was anything from Violet Fane, she looked me like ??? and then asked the owner from the shop (she was back in the storage area, from what I understood)... And then soon she came o talk to me, and brought a box of accessories, some creations straight out of the oven (metaphorically!) that she was taking pictures to upload on the webshop. I got really lucky!

Eu queria principalmente um broche do Enchanted Town - para quase cada um dos "estabelecimentos" que tinha desenhado na print, existia também um broche em madeira. Claro, isso foi na época do lançamento (mais ou menos outubro de 2021), então eu sabia que ia ter poucas opções. Mas a dona da loja me mostrou justamente o que eu queria! E era o último!! Ela também tinha outros de outras coleções, como uns de poções/remédios, um do Cthulhu, o do Funeral, alguns estilo camafeus... Todos são ilustrados por ela, belíssimos. Daí encontrei esse colar de Livro das Fadas junto e me apaixonei ❤ É da série Studying the Fairies.

I wanted, most of all, an Enchanted Town brooch - for almost every one of the "places" that were drawn on the print, there was also a wooden brooch. Of course, that was at the time of the release (around october 2021), so I knew I would have few options. However, the owner showed me exactly the one I wanted! And it was the last one!! SHe also had other from other collections, like one with potions/medicine, a Cthulhu one, one with The Funeral, some cameos... All illustrated by her, gorgeous. Then I found this fairy book necklace and fell in love ❤ It's from Studying the Fairies series.

Essa arte / postal no meio na verdade é um encarte da loja, lindíssimo! A dona me deu, junto com os adesivos abaixo.

This art / postcard in the middle is actually the a gprgeous insert/ad from the shop! She gave me that with the stickers below.

Curiosidades: O look da esquerda é da coleção "Le Fantôme de l'Antiquaire" e o da miniatura na direita é um visual de duas peças em veludo chamadas da coleção Café Rosé.

Já estou louca pra usar o broche na próxima vez que vestir esse JSK, mas ainda não tenho certeza de como vai ser o coordinate com o livro das fadas... Próxima vez que for na Madame Chocolat, espero comprar coisas sem ser da Violet Fane, hehehe!
